Take me back Tuesday: tie dye with Surface Skis!

This week we are taking you back to Session 6, when Surface Skis took over Windells! All week their team was taking laps in the park, skating the Concrete Jungle (ahem Banks Gilberti), and doing tie dye in the courtyard! For the second year in a row, Surface teamed up with Skullcandy to do a full take over of ski camp, and it was awesome. Campers got to make tie dye shirts with Surface’s pro team, and then take the shirts home with them, a brightly-colored reminder of summer camp. Continue reading →

Take me back Tuesdays: Simon Says with the Salomon/Bonfire Team

After you get back from the mountain or the skatepark, there’s so much to do at camp. Skating, bmxing, talking with coaches, hanging out in SAIGL…there’s enough to keep anyone busy until it’s time to call it a day. One of the most well-known and well-loved part of camp is sponsor night. Don’t let the name fool you, sponsor nights usually take place before the sun sets, beginning at 4pm every day, and going until 9pm, and there are multiple sponsor nights every day. Campers go head to head in the race and win sweet prizes from Atmosphere. It’s always a really fun event to participate in or watch. Check out these photos from the Session 2 Atmosphere Skate Race. Capita Chocolate Milk Challenge

The Capita crew came through Windells last week to promote their video project coming this fall called “Defenders of Awesome”, and give campers a chance to win some free stuff. Like always Capita came up with a creative way to find the kids deserving of free gear and they definitely earned it.

This game was pretty simple but had a disgusting mental twist to it. Each team started with a clean pair of unnecessarily large, white, mid-rise briefs and a white, paper cup. Then each team member ran the clean briefs over to a cooler full of thick, brown, chocolate milk. The “tighty-whities” acted as a sponge as the campers scampered back over to their cups with a handful of chocolate milk.   Then they squeezed every bit of milk out of the underwear and then ran back to the cooler to fill up their underwear “sponge.” As soon as the cup was half full, they chugged the milk and pass the undies to the next teammate until all four team mates had finished a cup of chocolate milk. The winning team was hooked up with Capita gear and a free pair of briefs as a dirty souvenir. Here are some photos to help explain.

Since Lazz has been at Windells for years, he is pretty good at coming up with crazy activities for the campers to do. During Session 1, Lazz and Arnette presented “Johnny’s Mystery Drink”. Doesn’t it look delicious? Continue reading →
