Six down, one to go, and still riding down to the parking lot. What a summer it’s been. Session 6 couldn’t have been any better. We had a ton of fun riding the park and sunny skies everyday.
The Surface team dropped in at Windells for skiing, skating, games, and even tie dying.

Session 4 sure was a blast, and how could it not have been with the likes of Nick Visconti, Curtis Woodman, Jason Robinson and Stevie Bell hanging around. The single largest and longest knockout games ever recorded went down, some pretty incredible skate sessions happened in BOB and the Concrete Jungle and we all shredded one of the funnest on hill parks to date!
Don’t forget about the campers! They have been out there killing it too!

Summer 2011 has officially begun and Session 1 is in the books! Mother Nature has been generous this winter and we’ve got more snow than we know what to do with. Combine that with around a dozen new features and you’ve got an amazing place to ride!
Yobeat dropped in on session one and brought the likes of Forest Bailey, Will Bateman, Nial Romanek, and Johnny Lazz to rip it up! Enjoy the snowboard edit!
On the ski side of things, we have some awesome coaches out here, and some hot camper action session 1. They wasted no time throwing down!
The LIFEBLOOD team rolled through campus and skated for a couple days in the Concrete Jungle. Check out the video!
The skate campers had a good time visiting some of Oregon’s awesome parks, and of course, also ripped up our private park as well.
Forrest Bailey, Nial Romanek, and Will Bateman take a lap from Palmer, through Windells, through Public park and to the Mile lift. It’s over 2 miles!!! That is pretty darn good for summer shredding!
Summer is right around the corner. Only a few more weeks until Session 1 starts our season off with a bang! Whether this is your first summer here or your 12th, everyone will be excited about the new additions to Windells. We have been working hard to make sure 2011 is the best yet. If you haven’t seen the Bones teaser I suggest you take a look, its definitely worth the watch. These guys were at camp last fall and there’s a shot in the new cement in the park at the end of the teaser! Enjoy.
This past weekend Windells staff decided to organize a couple games of Skate and Bike for the kids that come to Open Skate. We enjoy putting on contests for you to win prizes so what better way then a good old fashion game of S-K-A-T-E.
Hours of Open Skate/Bike are as follows: Friday 5-10pm, Saturday & Sunday 9-5pm However we are closed when Camp is in Session!

Nicole McNulty of Windells Academy has been hard at work traveling and competing in Rev Tour, USASA events and most recently the Burton AM where she placed 3rd in half pipe! As one of our top students and upcoming athlete, Nicole has earned herself a role as one of our leading ladies. Nicole sat with us for an interview to talk about competitions, skating, the future, and what songs on her playlist get her stoked to ride.
As the Windells Academy English teacher, Catherine Coulon knows a thing or two about both literature and skateboarding. In the second part of our “Faculty Feature” we’d like to introduce you to the skateboarder, traveler and educator that is Catherine Coulin and share the experiences that have brought her to Windells Academy.
