Will Bateman is one of our favorite people. He’s hilarious, an awesome friend, and a heck of a good snowboarder. Oh yeah, he is sick on a skateboard, too. Will hosted Session 1 last year and it was a pretty amazing time, so we’re more than stoked that Will is coming back in 2012 during Session 1 for his Team Takeover Session.
Will is always down to shred with campers and help them learn new tricks. You may have gotten to ride with him last year, but if not, come out to Session 1 and take some laps with Will! His riding is really creative and he offers up a unique look at lines and features in the park. For anyone that hasn’t gotten the chance to become friends with Will, here’s a little bit from Mr. Bateman, himself. Continue reading →

Last year, La Nina dumped record amounts of snow onto Mount Hood. When Session 1 rolled around, Timberline cut troughs into the snow under the lifts so that they could run. The amount of snow was mind boggling. The Northwest is having a pretty good year right now, too, especially compared to the rest of the country, where snowfall is less than average this year.
If you happen to live in an area where you could use a little more snow right now, enjoy this Take me Back Tuesday and remind yourself that even if there’s less snow outside right now than you would like, there’s tons of shredding to be done this summer. Continue reading →

Line Skis has a strong presence here at camp with coaches like Andy Perry, Will Wesson, Tyler Barnes and Windells Academy Head Ski Coach, Jeff Curry. These guys make sure the campers stay stoked through the entire session, not only though teaching on the hill, but through fun and creative off hill activities. This year Line has been putting on the Shakeweight/Snake Skate race each session at Windells and campers have been loving it! Check out the action below. Continue reading →

Nial Romanek hosted a popsicle eating contest to give away a Flow snowboard, bindings, boots and a plethora of other Flow product. Along with Danny Buller, Nial handed out chilly popsicles to campers who tried to eat them quickly without getting brain freeze. Check out a couple photos below from the cool competition!

Chris Hagerty came all the way to Hood, via Colorado, to start of his summer shred with this back five stale.
Summer has officially begun at Mount Hood. The jumps are salted, the towropes are turning, and campers are strapping in and learning new tricks. Session 1 just wrapped at Windells and it was a seriously sick start to the season. The mountain is completely white, with over 100 inches of snow more than usual, and the Windells Diggers have crafted one of their best parks ever: two separate jib areas and all of the jumps, hips, and quarters that your summer-shredding heart could desire. Rome Thrasher Night kicked off the Summer of Shred ’11 at camp yesterday and let’s just say that Thrasher Night turned it up to an eleven. Rome Team Rider Johnny Lazzareschi is hosting Session 1 and was on the megaphone, calling out the rules, singing, and getting everyone stoked. Continue reading →
