SNOWBOARDER MAGAZINES Americas next top pro model had a 5 event series that occurred at Windells Saturday and Sunday. The events included longest rail slide, highest ollie, spin to win, highest halfpipe air, and chinese downhill.
Following these entertaining events each competitor auctioned off their pro model right out from under their feet. Bidding Windells campers gathered as the pro’s hyped their gear and added additional incentives. MFM added 11 dollars cash, Travis Kennedy laid down a box of product, some even through in bindings. All the proceeds went to charity.
Saturday was the first day of SNOWBOARDER Magazine’s America’s Next Top Model, an innovation contest that has 20 invited pro riders competing in simple, yet valued snowboard “disciplines”. Twenty of the most talented riders came to Windells to take part in the challenge: Eero Ettala, Pat Moore, MFM, Eddie Wall, Lauri Hesikari, the list goes on. Continue reading →
Marc Frank, Travis Kennedy and crew are still hanging out at camp, enjoying grub from the awesome Windells kitchen staff and hanging out on campus in the afternoons when it’s not as hot out. We checked in with MFM today to see what they’ve been up to so far.

Says Marc Frank, “we came to Windells ’cause this is the dopest spot by far with all the concrete, all the skating….The whole vibe down here is dope and the people that work here are dope. I’ve known Tim Windell for a long time and he always hooks it up and shows love to us and we show love back and it’s all like family over here, so it’s cool.”

MFM continued, saying, “we got here and rode a little park just to kinda get warmed up to the different kind of corn/slush snow. The first two days we’ve just been scoping and hanging out, kinda skating and playing basketball. Tomorrow we’ll really start working. We’ve scoped out a couple of things to build, so we’re going to go build ‘em and film ‘em.”

Marc Frank Montoya just got into camp last night, the first of many pros who will be hanging out this summer. He’s in town with fellow FOTD shreds, Travis Kennedy and Kareem El Rafie and FODT filmer Drew Satin, getting shots for their new film and checking out the skate set up at camp. “Windells hooked it up again and it gets sicker every year. I feel like I’m 12 again,” said MFM. Travis agreed, “we’re all happy to be here once again and to try out the new skate stuff. We’re out here filming for our new movie, MFM Productions/Finger on da Trigger’s Hard to Earn.”
Check back tomorrow for more from MFM, Travis, Kareem and Drew.
