Neff x The Seventh Letter present Sesame Street with a twist

Neff Headwear has spent the summer months on Mt. Hood with Windells for years. Neff, in the grand scheme of things, is a young company but they’re making waves in the industry like they’ve been doing it since the beginning. Neff teamed up with The Seventh Letter and Known Gallery to present a medley of Sesame Street inspired art, showcased in Los Angeles this past weekend. The exhibit featured pieces from the likes of notorious urban and street artists, Madsteez, Mr. Cartoon, AXISTodd Bratrud, Dabs & Myla, and benefited City of Hope, an independent biomedical cancer research, treatment and education institution in LA.

Neff can tell you how to get to Sesame Street.

Familiar faces and friends to Windells Camp, Louie Vito and The Dingo, along with a wide spread of other VIPs, visited Known Gallery to check out the show.

Get in with the movement! Join Windells and Neff for another round of sunny and sick summer days on Mt. Hood this year.

Windells at the 30th annual Burton US Open

The Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships turned “29 again” this winter. Superhumans Elena Hight, Jamie Anderson, and former campers Shaun White and Louie Vito topped the podiums while common folk grazed for free stuff at the sponsor tents. Method Man and Redman played a concert for VIP Open goers and, as always, too much fun was had.

Windells Snowboard Camp breeds champions in Oslo

The WSF TTR World Snowboarding Championships in Oslo, Norway came to a close last Sunday. Two hundred and forty of the world’s best snowboarders gathered to compete in Slopestyle, Halfpipe and Quarterpipe. The World Champion podiums were packed with former Windells campers and Team members.

Windells familiar faces, Chas Guldemond and Spencer O’Brien, were dubbed Slopestyle World Champions after their impressive performances on the perfectly groomed course. Guldemond earned his $40,000 bounty with a frontside blunt 270 out, front board to 450 out, switch back 1260, back 1080, tailpress to back 180 and a huge cab 1260 to put the icing on the cake. Spencer’s run sent her to the top of the women’s Slopestyle podium accompanied by Jaime Anderson and Enni Rukajarvi. O’Brien was able to stump Anderson’s success streak with a front board, noseslide, back 540, switch back 540, 50-50, and a lofty front 720.

Louie Vito and Matt Ladley, contenders for the Men’s Halfpipe Championship title, have spent plenty of time at Camp. Windells camper and Burton team rider, Kelly Clark, made this her 15th consecutive Halfpipe win. Clark made her run look easy: frontside air, backside 540 mute, frontside 1080 mute, cab 720 mute, and frontside inverted 720.

Windells has given these world class athletes the opportunity to ride and train in the off season on world renown facilities. We’re proud to see the hard work of team members and campers pay off, clearly, in big ways. Want to get in on the action? Head to www.windells.com to see what Windells can do for you. Louie Vito going to Vancouver

It is now official. Louie Vito is a member of the United States Snowboarding halfpipe team for the upcoming Olympic games in Vancouver.

The announcement came during a ceremony following the final U.S. Grand Prix event at Park City, Utah.

“We tried to work it out mathematically and it looked like he had it, but you just never know because coach’s discretion goes into the decision,” said Louie’s father Lou on Sunday by phone from Utah. “Seeing him come out with his Olympic uniform on, we could finally rest easy. It’s finally over.”

The Olympic halfpipe competition is set for Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Cypress Mountain, which sits on the outskirts of Vancouver.

Mammoth Grand Prix

Tim Windell was live and in person at the most recent Grand Prix that went down this last weekend at Mammoth Mountain.  He was on site tossing out tons a free stickers and our New Camp DVD’s.  If you did not get a chance to visit Tim at the Grand Prix, He is on his way to the DEW TOUR in UTAH.

After the Grand Prix concluded, Tim Windell immediately hit me up and went on and on about how proud he is of how well past campers competed in the Superpipe.  The Top Five Riders have spent many seasons at Windells learning and perfecting new tricks during the summer and then take what they have learned and implement it during the competitive season. It is the perfect formula to success that all Windells Alumni use and the pay off shows!

Can’t Wait For Vancouver – Good Luck Windells Alumni.

Louie Vito Rail Jam

The 5th edition of The Louie Vito Rail Jam will take place December 26th 2009.  This was the biggest event that the Madriver Ski & Snowboard Resort (where Louie 1st snowboarded) had last year with just shy of 400 competitors and after all the national publicity Louie has received recently this event will be OUT OF CONTROL! Plus, Windells is giving away a week to The “Funnest” Place on Earth as the Grand Prize.

Windells would also like congratulate Louie on his podium at the Grand Prix last weekend.  It is always nice to see competitors like Louie snowboard at Windells summer after summer for years, take it to the next level.  Keep It Up.
