The students of Windells Academy had the time of their lives last week at the Utah stop of this years winter Dew Tour. The students enjoyed time at the contest itself, cheering on their friends and peers in slope style and halfpipe, and witnessing some of the craziest ski aerials known to man. The students had the great pleasure to spend time with people in the industry such as Jimmy Disco (US Team), Shannon Bahrke (Olympic Silver in moguls), Todd Schirman (FIS World Coach of the Year) and many others. The students made an awesome visit to Ccauswell headquarters (www.surfaceskis.com), took a trip to the flow rider indoor surf and water sports center, and even took a lesson on indoor sky diving! When Moxy first pulled into Windells Two years ago to begin his coaching job, I did not believe that he was 18. I actually thought he might be lying just to have the job. Over & Over & Over again, I keep coming across footage from Windells Summer of 2009 making banger segments in Industry movies. This just happens to be Windells coach & guest, Johnnie Paxson with the closing segment in this years Finger On Da Trigger movie, HARD TO EARN. Do you like smooth transitions and perfect cut vert walls? Well then Mt. Hood Meadows is the place to be! Besides their amazing terrain and killer tree runs, meadows continues to build a killer terrain park AND perfect pipe every year. This morning, the students of Windells Academy headed up to Meadows for one of the most beautiful days on the mountain yet. bluebird above the clouds in the mid 30’s. They were lucky enough to catch some huge air out of one of the first half pipes to open in north america this season. Check it out!
Girl & Anti-Hero’s Beauty and the Beast Tour reserved a private session on Windells campus for Andrew Allen, John Cardiel, Mike Carrol, Frank Gerwer, Peter Hewitt, Rick Howard, Eric Koston, Sean Malto, Rick McCrank, Alex Olson, Max Schaaf, Julian Stranger, the Booy and Little Guy. You are going to see a ton of TV, video and magazine coverage from their stay. Rumor has it, Windells will be featured on the cover of leading skateboard publications. Windells also hosted a bunch of exclusive skate demos this past summer for campers eyes only: Habitat’s Cascadia, Imperial Motion, Skate Like a Girl, Creature, Jivaro and many more!
