Summer Caption Contest Winner

Well, it’s Friday, and that means the Summer Caption Contest has come to an end. We got tons of responses so thanks for taking part in the challenge! The lucky winner will get a custom Windells NXTZ, DVD, and sticker pack. You earned it. Before we can announce the winner, we want to share some of our favorite responses with you guys. Here are the top 5 Honorable Mentions:

“I think I left the sink running….” – Jonny

“I swear I told Forest that it was Hawaiian shirt day.” – Ben

“At Windells, not only can you learn to ski and snowboard like a pro, but Forest Bailey can also teach you how to professionally clean the 6.0 kicker!” – Vince

“(sigh). I swear if he doesn’t get down I’m going to make a caption contest and put it on the Windells site.” – Troy

“Wow, polarized lenses see through more than water!!” – Brad

Now for the big winner. Congrats to Cora Belsher for filling in Mr. Johnny Lazz’s thought bubble with a fun and creative response. “Wow, I can’t believe he can do a one arm push-up in that position.” It’s funny and also believable. Forest Bailey is exceptionally strong. I mean really, that kid wakes up and just starts lifting weights. Congratulations again Cora! You are the lucky winner of a Windells custom prize pack. Stay tuned everyone for more contests all winter long!

Summer skate update video

The Concrete Jungle is an awesome skatepark. That’s pretty much what’s up. You’ve probably heard us talk about it before here, here, and here, but it’s just so fun to skate. Tons of skateboarders come from all over to skate the Concrete Jungle. Here’s a short glimpse of some of the guys that have rolled through the park so far this summer.

Session 5 snowboarding recap with Eric Willett, Austen Sweetin, Jonah Owen and Cam Pierce!

Summer’s more than halfway over and at Windells, we’re trying to figure out where the time has gone (it probably has something to do with all of the snowboarding and skating we’ve been doing the last two months). It’s sunny out, there’s tons of snow, and each week the park keeps getting better and better. Session 5 just came to a close, and if you missed it, here’s what went down. [Read more...]

Session 1 recap – snowboarding

Chris Hagerty came all the way to Hood, via Colorado, to start of his summer shred with this back five stale.

Summer has officially begun at Mount Hood. The jumps are salted, the towropes are turning, and campers are strapping in and learning new tricks. Session 1 just wrapped at Windells and it was a seriously sick start to the season. The mountain is completely white, with over 100 inches of snow more than usual, and the Windells Diggers have crafted one of their best parks ever: two separate jib areas and all of the jumps, hips, and quarters that your summer-shredding heart could desire. Johnny Lazz’s mystery drink

Johnny Lazz is one of the funnest people to have at camp and lucky for Session 1 campers, he was hosting the entire week! Since Lazz has been at Windells for years, he is pretty good at coming up with crazy activities for the campers to do. During Session 1, Lazz and Arnette presented “Johnny’s Mystery Drink”. Doesn’t it look delicious? [Read more...]

Top to bottom run with Nial, Forest, and Will

There’s so much snow on Mount Hood right now. Follow Nial Romanek, Forest Bailey, and Will Bateman as they cruise from the top of the Palmer Lift, through the longest park on Mount Hood (that would be the Windells Park), then through public park, and down to the bottom of the Magic Mile. So much fun!

Will Bateman’s Shoes Are Bigger Than Yours

“You know what they say about big shoes…” – Forest Bailey
Will Bateman is rolling on some size 19′s.  Check out the video for proof.
“I keep my size 19′s with me at all times,” Will said.  ”I put them in the back window of my car for security reasons. Anyone who looks at those shoes in the back, is going to think that some huge dude drives that car. I also like when we people say, ‘that’s a big dude driving a little car.”
