You know the story, Windells invites a team of Pro’s out, we build them something an imagination can barely think up, then they shred it with everyone.

The Dream feature is a new project for 2009, and has provided a ton of excitement to campers, staff, guest pro’s, and the public watching.

Check out a preview of Flows channel gapping, barrell bonking, downrailing, kiddy pool feature.

It’s been so hot out that the Flow team wore shorts their first day on hill to build their Dream Feature. As you can see here, Jeremy Thompson wore sunblock on his legs. Brandon Reis did not.

Tim Humphreys, Jeremy and Brandon took many shredsled laps on the concrete jungle when they arrived at Windells. They were getting pretty good.

Last day session on the Nike 6.0 Dream Feature

The day after Session 2 ended, everyone was still feeling like they needed to get some of the lead out. Snowboard lead that is. A small group went up, consisting of Trevor Jacob, Broc Waring, Mark Reining, Dylan Bidez, Robbie Walsh, Pat Milbery and Johnny Paxson.

Nike 6.0 Dream Feature — sunny skies, shredding fun and finding lines

Last minute salting and shaping before the feature opened.

The Nike 6.0 team put a lot of self-described, “man hours” into their Dream Feature this past session. After the cat drivers had pushed the snow in place, it was the job of Trevor, Ross, Broc, Dylan and Mark to hand shape most of the feature. Their excitement for building something like this paid off and the day the Dream Featured opened, everyone was more than stoked on how fun it was to ride.  [Read more...]

Nike 6.0 Team Dream Feature Build

The Nike 6.0 Team and friends are up here this session and they started off their visit by getting up early, heading up to Timberline and building an awesome Dream Feature. Trevor Jacobs, Brock Waring, Ross Baker, Mark Reining and Dylan Bidez collaborated on a feature that puts everything they like to ride all in one spot. Coach Pat Milbery was on site helping make everything happen and was nice enough to shoot some photos of the guys bringing their idea to fruition.

These guys aren't afraid to get their hands dirty making something they want to shred. (L to R) Brock, Ross, Trevor, Dylan, our diligent cat driver Jake, Mark

Team Terror: The Rome Session at Windells

TEAM TERROR: THE ROME SIGNATURE SESSION AT WINDELLS

June is here and the Summer Camp of Terror is about to start at Windells—a bloodbath of shred with Artifact 1985s impaling LNP, Folsom boot laces strangling Bjorn, and the 390 rising out of Trillium Lake to decapitate campers with the edge of the highback.

And adding to the fun of it all is Team Terror.

Team Terror is the Rome Signature Session at Windells when riders from the SDS descend on camp. During Session 3 from June 26th to July 3rd, Rome riders Bjorn Leines, Eiki Helgason, Marius Otterstad, and Johnnie Paxson will be at camp to coach and hang out with riders. They’ll design custom features on hill during the day and play games of S.K.A.T.E. in BOB (Windells’ skate facility) at night with the campers.

The Windells demo center will be loaded with the new 2010 line from Rome: Poprock powered Artifact 1985s, super snappy Mods, 390s, Libertines, and more. As always Rome Night will feature the opportunity to win a ton of Rome schwag, including a new 2010 jacket from the SDS Outerwear collection.

Head to www.windells.com to sign up for Session 3 so you don’t miss out the signature session with the Rome team at Hood this summer.

Stay tuned to www.romesnowboards.com for more updates on the happenings of the Rome SDS.

Session One Park Update

The diggers at Windells were working crazy hard pre-session one to put together a banger park for all the session one campers. They definitely outdid themselves and over the last few days, everyone at Windells has been jumping and jibbing their hearts out, enjoying all of the new features. Check out this aerial shot by Windells photog, Darcy Bacha. If this doesn’t make you start packing your bags for Hood right now, I’m not sure what will.

Perfectly groomed every morning for your gnar-getting pleasure.

Perfectly groomed every morning for your gnar-getting pleasure.

There’s a pristine halfpipe, a triple line of giant jumps for dialing big spins, a super creative jib line and below all that, there’s a progression features for learning anything you can think of on jumps and rails. The park is loaded with fun hits and it’s only the first session, which means the diggers are still expanding the park! Additionally, with the new rope tow, you can access a tons of jumps, rails and a wallride without ever taking off your skis or snowboard. Awesome.

Nick Visconti has been hanging out all session, riding with everyone, teaching clinics and throwing sick mini contests on his disco ball Dream Feature. Nick’s Dream Feature is rad—transition on every side to a lunch tray snow box and a dance floor (and of course, a pole jam for good meaure)–more pics on that tomorrow.
