I was digging through some old files and came across the 2002 addition of Windells Brochure. Inside there were pictures and interviews with some of the top talent in snowboarding today, most notably – SHAUN WHITE. Plus a lot of old school campus and park pictures. Here are some of my favorite pages!
From February 13th through the 19th, Snowboarders and Skiers from around the World will be Flying into the Portland International Airport to come to Windells, a place to experience mind-blowing powder days and endless park runs suitable for beginners through Expert. Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline Ski Area and Mt. Hood Ski Bowl provides lap-able parks, pipes, natural halfpipes, wind lips,rollers, banks, tree runs, steeps, cornice drops and wide open cruisers. Your coach is your guide to these secret spots, including the best place to build a BC booter to stomp your first backy ever!
Mt. Hood Meadows and the Timberline Ski Area are where some of the most advanced Winter riding in the world happens and their parks are among the best in the country. Campers will also have the chance to ride a fully lighted park at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, America’s largest night time resort. Check out the Presidents Camp, along with Windells Easter and Spring Break Camps.
“Because winter camps are so much smaller, the entire staff gets to know every camper, it is definitely my favorite camps of the year” Year Round Coach Counselor, Katiah.
Windells is in the middle of the first Winter Camp of the 2009/10 season and the campus is being blanketed in Fresh White Snow as we speak. The forecast is calling for a few inches down at camp but Mt Hood will receive up to a foot of powder for the campers to shred all day tomorrow.
Snowboarders, skiers and skateboarders from all around the World came to experience Windells, The Funnest Place on Earth.
Beware of Dakine’s Abominable Snowman! He Comes out when the snow reaches his toes.

Windells Backyard has been recentley blanketed with 102 inches of Fresh Pow Pow. The Local Hood shred community is pumped on the record breaking early season snowfall along with the Windells Academy Students and the soon to be Windells Holiday Campers! Burton threw its first on hill contest this session, coming out with a jam session on their election 2010 camber rainbow box. A ton of snowboard campers hung out at the box and threw down their best frontsides, switch ups and swivels in a laid back session for a new Burton snowboard and some Burton schwag. [Read more...]

Burton has always been an innovative company. Whether it is their products, riders, employees, etc–there’s always something new and exciting going on at Burton that’s pushing snowboarding. This summer, reverse camber snowboards are all the rage on the hill because of their soft, playful flex that lends itself to warm weather buttering. Burton came down to the Windells campus with a 2010 womens’ Blender snowboard–a new reverse camber stick–to give away to one lucky girl, as long as she could stomach the competition…
This week has been bright, sunny and oh-so hot, so everyone at camp was really excited when Burton arrived with an idea to cool things down. Three tricycles, a couple buckets full off water balloons and piles of Burton gear to give away…
Connor and Colby from Burton came down to Windells today to hook campers up with tons of Burton goodies. What’d the campers have to do to grab the schwag? Crawl out on the plank over the foam pit and stand on their head as long as they could. The winners were rewarded with RED helmets. Check it out.
