Windells just wrapped up our first successful weekend of the USASA Mt Hood Series.  On Saturday and Sunday, riders and skiers from all over the state, traveled to Hood to compete in a Slopestyle Comp at Timberline Lodge and two Halfpipe Comps at Mt Hood Meadows.  Thanks to everyone for showing up, we had a great turnout!  If you missed this weekend, we are doing it again this coming weekend! From February 13th through the 19th, Snowboarders and Skiers from around the World will be Flying into the Portland International Airport to come to Windells, a place to experience mind-blowing powder days and endless park runs suitable for beginners through Expert. Mt. Windells Founder On Summer Camps And A Changing Industry

For the past two decades, Tim Windell has been at the forefront of our industry’s progression with the development of  camps designed to push action sports to new heights. Now action sports and education can go hand-in-hand with the launch of the Windells Academy, giving athletes year round access to terrain, education and the industry. We caught up with Tim Windell to find out how the summer camps were impacted, his plans for the Windells Academy and adapting to the changing industry.

Windells Open house was a smash hit.  There must of been a total of 100 or more kids, parents, skaters, bikers, bladers and trampers to find out what Windells was all about.  Kids went home with knowledge, Free Stickers and Discounts for the upcoming Camps. For the first few hours the weather was nice and the early go getters were able to take advantage of our outdoor campus including the Concrete Jungle and the Dirt Features. Soon enough, Oregon’s typical weather kicked in and we all spent the remainder of the day in BOB.  Either way, we all had fun and hope to see everyone again up at Camp for our Open Skate and Bike Weekends which run pretty much every weekends Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s.

Windells Open House was a huge success.  Kids and Parents were lined up at the crack of dawn to hang out in BOB all day to skate, bike, jump on the tramp, jump in the foam pit and just have a ton of FUN.   Windells first FREE event of the season introduced the community to what we have going on during what most people think is our off season.  Fact is, we have just as much if not more happening; Guests from all over Oregon and Washington came to chat about the Windells Academy, Windells Team, Open Skate & Bike Weekends, Winter/Spring Camps and of Course the Summer Camps!  Plus, the lucky attendees were able to get their hands on our limited edition stickers and Camp Discounts Coupons.  (HINT HINT HINT: hit me up for the coupon sean@windells.com)

Windells Crew had such a great time at our first Open House, we decided to throw another one, so if you missed out, you are invited to come check it out on Saturday, October 17th from 9am to 5pm.

Today was the second industry trip for the Academy students. We took a trip to Bonfire/Solomon snowboard headquarters to see what goes on behind the scenes. The students learned everything from how to design and put together a jacket, to meeting the team manager who gets riders on the team. Everyone was VERY friendly and everyone had a blast! We even got gift bags that included  a t shirt and a BUNCH of stickers. Thanks Bonfire!
