Windells Academy is proud to announce Miah Wheeler as the new snowboard director and head coach of Windells Academy. “We are excited to have someone who brings such a variety of strengths to the table at Windells Academy. With almost a decade of coaching experience, Miah is going to be a vital asset to our team,” asserts camp owner and industry veteran, Tim Windell.

Wheeler comes to Windells Academy from Aspen, Colorado where he served for 9 years with the Aspen Valley Snowboard Club as the program director and head coach. He has been heavily involved with United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA), serving on the executive board as the coaches representative, running the Aspen/Snowmass Series, developing the coaches education program and serving as the head coach for the PacSun/USASA team.

President of Windells Academy, Mike Hanley explains, “if we see the growth in the academy that Miah has demonstrated in his previous endeavors, we are well on track to be the largest action sports academy the world.”

Wheeler is excited for the opportunity. “I’m stoked to bring my experience to the world class facilities that Windells has to offer. Windells New Skatepark ,to open for Summer 2010, is almost complete!  Jamie and his crew have been working so hard to provide campers with the most creative & innovative park!   Here are a few different shots of the park and features.

KAB Rails & Head Digger Keaton Pearson have begun construction on this Summers 2010 Snow Features.  Check out the rough drafts of some of the options you will have in Windells Private Park this Summer.  These are going to add a nice touch to Windells Dream Feature Sessions.  Just another reason why WINDELLS is the right choice.  Keep checking back for real life pictures, I will post as soon as they arrive in OREGON.

Two Weeks ago we started a contest and we have came to a conclusion.

In the midst of one of the biggest spring snowy seassons on Mt Hood, the guys and girls in the office at Windells decided that the Goat Picture is the favorite.  Their is a funny story behind this one where his other goats where intrigued about the sticker and tried eating it.  Then he had to jump over the fence (after getting the shot) to stop the goats from consuming the Windells Sticker.  Congrats to the Winner of the 2010 Windells Dakine Custom Backpack.

Windells just wrapped up our first successful weekend of the USASA Mt Hood Series.  On Saturday and Sunday, riders and skiers from all over the state, traveled to Hood to compete in a Slopestyle Comp at Timberline Lodge and two Halfpipe Comps at Mt Hood Meadows.  Thanks to everyone for showing up, we had a great turnout!  If you missed this weekend, we are doing it again this coming weekend!
