Snowboarding Camp
Tim Windell founded Windells Snowboard Camp way back in 1987 and since then, nearly every World Champion to date and every US Olympic Medalist has been through the program. Snowboarding’s top 10 men and eight of the top 10 women are all former Windells campers.
Name a major media outlet, snowboard magazine, or video production company and they have worked with Windells. Freeskiing camp
In 1995, when Windells became one of the first snowboard camps to open its doors to freeskiing, the question was why? The answer, says founder Tim Windell, is simple, “Without skiing, snowboarding wouldn’t be where it is today.”
From 1995 to the present, a freeskiing Who’s Who has been through Windells, including Simon Dumont, Tanner Hall and Sammy Carlson. Just about every big name has sessioned the Windells campus and Windells has been featured in countless movies and freeskiing media. Click here and the freeskiing page shows you why.
Skateboarding Camp
Skateboarding has been with Windells from the beginning and the sport’s influence has grown into one of the most innovative skateparks in the world. Thrasher once wrote of Windells’ legendary bowl, “If you can find a better wood ramp in the world, we’ll run a cover shot.”
Windells continues to push progression, most recently covering nearly 5 acres of campus with plaza-style skate features known as The Concrete Jungle. You’ll find double-page spreads on Windells in local skater Chet Childress’ TransWorld interview. From Ryan Sheckler to Bam Margera to Tony Hawk; from legends to the latest heroes, name a pro and they’ve skated Windells. To see why, click here for the Skateboarding page.
BMX/Freeride Camp
Two-wheeled mayhem is central to life at Windells and new to camp for 2009 is professional coaching for both BMX and freeride mountain biking. We’ve altered our campus to make room for a huge addition of dirt jumps and trails for riders of both sports to push it, sending ‘em flyin’ for years to come!
Combined with BOB and The Concrete Jungle, this megaplex of action sports caters to every kind of riding. Whether you’re into rails, drops, transitions, rhythm, or vert, Windells has obstacles to challenge your riding skills and the coaches trained to help you achieve any ambition.
Windells responds to the rise in BMX popularity all over the world with sessions all year long! Besides summer camp, there are weekend programs through fall, winter and spring to keep you in the rider’s seat.
