Airplane

If you are arriving by plane, you want to fly into the Portland International Airport (PDX). Please note that overnight camp is the only program that includes transportation to and from the airport.  We ask that campers use the following guidelines when preparing to travel to Windells Camp:

Arrival Day

Flights should be scheduled to arrive at PDX between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm on the first day of camp. During this time we will have a Airport Staff on site at baggage claim carousel #2 to assist campers with their luggage  and escort them to the Windells shuttle.

Departure Day

Flights should be scheduled to depart between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm on the last day of camp. Our Airport Staff will ensure that your camper arrives to the proper terminal for departure and if they are an unaccompanied minor, will escort them to the respective gate (see the below for details).

Unaccompanied Minor

If your camper is an UM we will pick them up at the gate upon arrival and escort them to the gate upon departure.  Contact your airline for specific details on unaccompanied minor age requirements and program details.

Exceptions

We do offer a private shuttle if you are not able to meet the required 8:00am – 4:00pm time frame.  The shuttle fee is $55 and arrangements should be made at least 48 hours prior to the camper’s arrival to Windells.

Automobile

Windells Camp is located at 59550 East Highway 26, Sandy Oregon, between Sandy and Welches.  The campus is just off of highway 26 and the Windells sign is clearly visible from the road.  If you are traveling by car or have someone dropping you off on campus, please keep the following in mind when making travel arrangements:

Arrival Day

Campers should arrive anytime AFTER 12:00pm on the first day of camp as supervision will not be available before that time.

Departure Day

Campers should be picked up any time BEFORE 12:00pm on the last day of camp as there will be no supervision available after that time.  The exception is for those campers attending more than one session and staying on campus in-between sessions.

Train

If you are arriving by train, you will want to arrive by Amtrak to the Portland Union Station . Please note overnight camp is the only program that includes transportation to and from the airport.  We ask that campers consider the following guidelines when preparing to travel to Windells Camp:

Train trips should be scheduled to arrive at the Portland Union Station (PDX) between the hours of  8:00am and 4:00pm on the first day of camp.  We will have an Staff member meet the camper at the enclosed waiting area, assist them with luggage and escort them to the Windells’ shuttle.

Departure Day

Train trips should be scheduled to depart between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm on the last day of camp. Our Staff will ensure that your camper arrives to the terminal for a timely departure.
