Session 4-5 in between edit!

Stay a while! If this in-between edit doesn’t make you want to stay at Windells forever, we don’t know what will. Session 4-5 in-between campers had a blast at the Nike SB Street League, riding Jet Boats on the Willamette River, and celebrating counselor Steph’s birthday back at camp.

In between sessions are fun! Learn more about staying multiple sessions at Windells camp.

Don’t miss the Monster Army Recon BMX Tour at Windells!

Even though it’s down to the last session on snow, things at Windells are slowing down quite yet. On August 17th, during our Session 8, Windells is hosting the Monster Army Recon BMX tour. Windells will be the last all-ages west coast stop! Get in on the action.

As the final stop for the west coast, the Windells campus is stoked to get in on the fun! We will have Monster Energy’s BMX Pro rider Mike Spinner here to host the competition, and the division winner from each stop will receive an all expenses paid trip to Spinner’s very own private backyard compound for the Recon Finals. Nearly $100,000 in cash and prizes are up for grabs!

#Windells Wednesday – Summer’s flying by!

If you can believe it, August will be here…tomorrow! And believe it or not, we are still shredding natural snow on Mt.Hood, and surfing the concrete wave everyday. Life is good in the Hood, that is for sure. Don’t just take our word for it though. Campers, staff, and invited pros, have been snapping picks and proving to the world how fun it really is here at Windells. Here are just a few of our favorite #Windells photos from the past couple of weeks. Don’t forget to tag #Windells2013 while you are at camp for a chance to be featured in our blogs. Now let’s see those pics…win1

What’s cookin’ with the Windells kitchen crew?

Windells’ Kitchen Crew is killing it on and off the hill! They have been working around the clock to make sure the Windells campers and staff have nutritious and well balanced meals. Then, they go out to the hill and the Concrete Jungle and absolutely destroy the Private Park. With original Z-Boy Tom “Wally” Inouye as their fearless leader and master chef, let’s take a look at some of the fine ladies and gents in the kitchen and see what they’ve got cookin’!

A look at Session 5 BMX camp!

Campers and BMX coach, David Grant. Photo: Tyler Orton

BMX camp is back in full swing for the summer, and our campers and coaches are not wasting any time getting after it. At Windells, we make sure we offer our BMX campers a little bit of everything. They travel to different spots all over Oregon during the day with their coaches, and then come back and rip around on our campus all evening.

Not too many people know this, but we have over 15 acres here on campus dedicated to BMX; it’s basically a dream come true for our campers. We have dirt, concrete, and wood features all over the place. Our forest park, BOB, Concrete Jungle, and bag jump offer lots of versatility and different terrain options for learning and progression.

Adventures of an in-between camper

Parents and campers interested in coming to Windells Summer Camp may notice there are few days between summer sessions. During the “in between” our staff and coaches have time to take a breather, rebuild the park, and make sure campus is sparkling clean for the next batch of campers. Campers staying between sessions are lucky enough to get the whole campus to themselves (with supervision, of course.)

When campers want to stay for multiple sessions at Windells, our in between counselors make sure there is never a dull moment! Stephanie Sue Feld and Ashley-Dawn Byrd are always planning fun day trips away to get away from campus for a bit. Sometimes they take the kids kayaking in Hood River or on skate trips to Portland (with a stop for VooDoo Donuts), and when the weather permits, they even make their way over to the spectacular Oregon coast.

Check out the recent summer adventures of the in between campers and staff:
