The life of a Windells ski coach is pretty sweet. Spend your winter in search of fresh snow, and then enjoy your summer with an extra helping of…more snow. Needless to say, John Kutcher has it made. He has been killing it this year, winning comps and stacking clips. As per our usual Monday check in, we stalked Kutcher’s Instragram account to see what he has been up to since the summertime. For the second stop of On The Road with Windells, we joined a stacked crew of campers and coaches in New York for an awesome weekend at Hunter Mountain. The Empire Terrain Park Crew did an unbelievable job building our private park, making sure to include something for every kind of skier and snowboarder. The snow was perfect, the tunes were blasting, and everyone had an unforgettable weekend. Now without any further delay, check out the much anticipated video recaps from our camp at Hunter Mountain!

For today’s check in, we are heading down to Bend, OR to catch up with Windells Digger Justin Sampson. A true Oregonion, Sampson knows how to live well and snowboard hard. In the winter he is stacking clips and mobbing with a heavy crew, and in the summer he is stacking clips and mobbing with an even heavier crew. So needless to say, he is living the dream! Taking a time out from the park building game, Justin has been snapping photos on Instragram to give us a good look into his mountain adventures. Let’s catch up with Sampson and see what this talented young man has been up to all winter…
Windells Camp has been open to the public all winter, making everyone’s weekends jam packed with skateboarding, BMXing, trampolines, and more! If you didn’t know, Open Skate gives you access to all of B.O.B. and 50,500 square feet of skate friendly campus (weather permitting). What are you waiting for! Join us for the final month of Open Skate before it’s too late.

Congratulations to Windells Academy alum Nick Goepper on another amazing win for this 2012-2013 season. Nick been traveling the world in search of new adventures, and exciting competitions, making all of us here at Windells proud supporters of his success. Good work Nick. We are so stoked for you!

This week, we wanted to bring it all the way back to 1988. Most of you weren’t even born yet! For Windells Camp and all of snowboarding, the late 80s were monumental! Tim Windell, founder and owner of Windells Camp, was getting his name out there by winning as many contests as he could and riding for Sims Snowboards. (His insanely impressive career recap can be found on our History Page). Thanks to Tim, Windells Camp has been going strong for 26 years, and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Check out the man behind the program in his early years right here for this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday:
