Checking in with Head Snowboard Coach Danger Dave

Danger Dave, our Head Snowboard Coach, has been stacking frequent flyer miles and riding days this season. Hitting the open road every chance he gets, Danger has taken the Windells Academy students on a whole bunch of adventures this year. Now that he has landed back in Oregon for the summer, we wanted to check in with him and see for ourselves what he has been doing! We are so excited to have Danger back running the show and providing a fun, progressive summer of riding for all of our campers. Now let’s check out those grams!

New B.O.B. Indoor Street Course is Finished!

IT’S FINISHED!! That’s right, B.O.B. (the building out back) is officially complete. After an amazingly fast turn around, Scott Everly’s crew has rebuilt our indoor skatepark to be accessible for all ability levels. We can’t wait for everyone to see it! Just 21 more days until summer camp begins, so sign up now and come skate with us this summer!

Superpark 17 is a wrap! Video Recap

Superpark 17 hit Mt. Bachelor again this year, bringing 400 riders and some of the best shaped features on the planet. B.O.B. Construction Update! Comment to win

In case you missed the news, we are adding a brand new indoor street course to the Windells campus! Yup, you heard it right. B.O.B. (the building out back) is getting a makeover just in time for Summer 2013. Scott Everly and his crew of builders have been working every single day to bring you guys an incredible park. Thanks to the insanely fast work of these seasoned veterans, we are bringing you a sneak peak of the rebuild. Stay tuned for more photo leaks as we get closer to opening day of the new park!

Newschoolers Update: West Coast Session Day 1

The West Coast Session has officially kicked off it’s 7th year here at Windells Camp. The industry’s top skiers began pouring in on Saturday, gearing up for a week of fun in the sun at Timberline. Lots of familiar faces returned to Windells for one of the best ski invitationals out there. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had a different game plan scheduled, and high winds kept the crew grounded for Day 1. Luckily for all of the participants, Windells campus is a great Plan B with enough skateable terrain to keep you buys for weeks. Thanks to Newschoolers for keeping us up to date on all the WCS news. Throwback Thursday: On The Road with Windells Camp

This winter On The Road with Windells Camp traveled to Keystone Resort, CO, Hunter Mountain, NY, and Brighton Resort, UT for three unforgettable mini camps. We had our fair share of weather along the journey; from frigid -18 degree temps to bluebird 50 degree days, we saw it all. Thanks to all of our fans and new friends in Colorado, New York, and Utah, the first year of our traveling adventure was a huge success! Summer X Games 2013: Jake Brown & Bob Burnquist Go Big

In case you missed the videos last week, skateboarding reached new heights during Summer X Games 2013 in Foz do Iguaca, Brazil. Jake Brown and Bob Burnquist defied the laws of physics with their snowboard style skate tricks. The Big Air competition set the stage for unprecedented and never before seen moments in skateboarding. The tricks of the night: a 720 no grab ollie and a 720 rodeo. Minds were blown. Hats off to these gentlemen for continuing to push the sport and leaving another mark on the community. We are now doubly excited to skate every day, all summer long, all across the Northwest. We hope to see you at skate camp this summer!
