Windells Camp hits the road for Hunter Mountain

We struck gold when we chose to hold the second stop of Windells On The Road at Hunter Mountain. The whole crew that turned up for this one was excited and ready to make the most of the weekend. OTR campers, ages nine to 43 and everywhere in between, met with their designated coaches early Saturday morning and immediately took to the private lane for some fun and freestyle progression.

The snow was soft and the park was the perfect size for beginner to advanced snowboarders and skiers. The music blasting from the Empire Park yurt set the mood and campers took laps with their coaches and new friends. We had Dan Villaire, Joey Normandeau and Chris Lisle coaching the ski side, and Adam Anderton, Katiah Lunn, and Jasper Kahn coaching the snowboarders. Erik Hoffman and Chris Erickson were following with cameras in hand. The energy was high and campers were exceeding even their own expectations of how much they could learn in just one weekend.

After each jam-packed day on hill, we brought it in for video review and then ridiculous activities for tons of prizes. Snowboard Magazine, Freeskier, Ice Coast Board Shop and Anon supplied the goods and campers were draped head to toe in Windells gear by the time the last pizza was eaten and everyone went their separate ways Sunday evening.
