Windells Camp for the girls

The skiing and snowboarding community can seem a little, oh, weighted on one side of the male/female spectrum. At Windells, however, our girls don’t have to worry about ratios! Some of the best up-and-coming girls in the game decide to spend their summers at Windells Camp. Our girls made the absolute most out of Summer 2012.

Professional skiers and snowboarders flocked to Mt. Hood to ride the Private Park and skate BOB and the Concrete Jungle. We saw some of the biggest names in the game this summer, including Marie France-Roy, Hannah Teter, Gabi Viteri, Jess Kimura, Megan Ginter, Celia Miller, Sarka Pancochova, Kjersti Buaas, Chanelle Sladics, Ty Walker, Olya Smeshlivaya, Erika Vikander, Kelly Underwood, Danyale Patterson, Erica Durtschi, Keri Hermann, Emilia Wint, and tons more.

Off hill, Girls Only activities were scheduled nightly. Boys gathered around, in awe of so many girls in one place at one time, and eventually sulked off after they realizing that the donuts, glitter, candy, prizes and general shenanigans were just for the girls. Girls activities varied, but were some cool combination of tee shirt beading with Ride Snowboards, doughnut eating for Roxy prizes, decorating and writing post cards for moms and friends, blindfolded makeovers with the Burton crew, girls only skate clinics with Skate Like a Girl, and a cabin movie night with enough candy and nail polish to make any teenage girl’s head spin.

Bottom line: it was great to be a girl camper at Windells this summer. The fun doesn’t stop just because the rope tows stop running; stay tuned on facebook, twitter, instagram throughout the fall and winter for opportunities to get in on the action and win prizes from Windells. Mary, Marsha, Angela, and guest contributors will keep the Windells blog up with the low down on all things Windells. We’d like to extend a huge thank the brands behind Girls Camp: Burton, Nike, Roxy, Gnu, Ride, Rome SDS, Dakine, Neff and Bonfire/Salomon. As always, it’s been a pleasure and we can’t wait to unveil what 2013 holds for Windells Girls Camp.
