The BMX program has been fantastic this summer. Head BMX Coach, Scott Draper, has done a great job vamping up the program and making it the best it can be. He brought on Shawn McIntosh to help him handle the little rippers for the last couple sessions of Summer 2012. I asked Scott to think about which of his campers might make a good addition to the batch of 2012′s Campers of the Day and he didn’t have to think long. Scott Harris has been improving and representing all session and his coach thought Scott was the obvious choice.
Scott Harris, 13, is from Anchorage, Alaska. He’s been to Windells twice before. “Scott is a great rider. He tries really hard, I guess ‘fearless’ is a good word for him. He’s improved a lot over this session. He’s 360′ing doubles in Forest Park. At the end of the day, I ask the kids to do something memorable before we the other campers usually end up nominating Scott,” his coach said.
“All of the kids have been awesome this session. Chris has been great and Tic Tac is cool. The kids this session and all summer have been so great.”

Session 8 has come and gone and there won’t be another session for, oh, a while. Jamie Weller picked his favorite skate camper for the session, not based on his ability, although, this kid does kill it. Maximillian D’Angelo proved to just be a really cool kid when he won a pair of trucks and gave them to a fellow camper when the 7-year-old came up empty handed after a product toss. Windells Camp sees a ton of cool kids each session, but Maxamillian really stood out for the last session of Summer 2012.
Shout out to all of our 2012 COTD’s: Caleb Kinnear, Blake Swain, Big Blue, Jason Lenihan, Jack Roof, Scott Harris and Maxamillian D’Angelo!
