Mt. Hood, Oregon is home to a lot of summer ski and snowboard camps but none compare to Windells Camp. With the largest private lane on Hood and the biggest skate park in the Pacific Northwest, Windells manages to keep every session fresh with new events and new parks.

Session 3 snowboard recap

Session 3 has finished at Windells Snowboard Camp and it was a whirlwind of a week. Mother Nature threw some almost-wintery weather at Mount Hood early in the session, but luckily campers and coaches were armed with tons of excitement and extra layers, so they could enjoy the Windells park. Good thing, because the park is still over a mile long and stacked top to bottom with a snake run, multiple hips, four rail lines in two different areas, tons of jump, quarterpipes, wallrides, and a special creeper tube. The sunny and sick days returned later in the week and there’s more snow than we’ve seen in years, meaning the Windells park is definitely the place to be for summer shredding. Continue reading →
Betty Rides Summer of Love presents rail jam and clinic for female campers
Betty Rides is one of Windells’ awesome camp sponsors and each session they put on a special activity for all of our female campers. Windells girls and women have no problem keeping up with the boys at camp, whether they are on hill, in the skatepark, or playing zombie dodgeball, but sometimes it’s nice to get away from the fellas and hang out with just girls! This summer is the Betty Rides Summer of Love and each session Betty Rides Night is an escape from all of the boys, where the girls can hang out together, make jewelry, design their own outerwear, eat candy, watch sweet 80′s movies, meet and be stoked to be a girl at snowboard, ski, and skate camp!
During Session 4, Betty Rides is putting on a rail clinic and jam for female snowboarders and skiers. On hand will be Betty Rides pros Danika Duffy and Olya Smeshlivaya. Session 4 campers will get to learn new tricks and compete in a fun, jam format environment for prizes from Betty Rides. The clinic and rail jam is this Saturday, can’t wait! Staff Checkout: Ski Coach Timmy McChesney
Here at Windells, we have a large staff that is incredibly passionate about snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding, and bmxing, and who are excited to share their love of their sport with all of the campers that come to camp throughout the year. Camp is filled with tons of professional riders, skiers, skaters, up and coming ams, and talented behind-the-scenes people. Since we have so many AWESOME staff members here at “the funnest place on Earth,” we wanted to introduce you to them! First up is Ski Coach Timmy McChesney.
First up is Ski Coach Timmy McChesney. Timmy is a cool down to earth guy thats out to have a good time and kills it. He has been doing it big the past few years making a name for himself, even more so this year winning some big contests.
