Saga Chocolate Milk Race – Session 4

The Saga chocolate milk race took place once again Session 4. The race all comes down to dedication. You really have to dig deep when it comes to the foot race in the snow, and then dig real deep when it comes to the milk chug! It is always funny to watch, and is great when you see the dedication pay off for the campers. Check out some visuals below to see what I mean.

Betty Rides Summer of Love Rail Jam and Clinic

Betty Rides came up to camp last session to host the Betty Rides Summer of Love Rail Jam and Clinic. The Betty crew, which included riders Danika Duffy and Olya Smeshlivaya, was excited to give away some new gear and help teach girls new rail tricks. The crew set up the rail jam in the lower section of the park, where there was a flat box, a flat rail, and a streetstyle down rail, so every girl could try new things, depending on what they wanted to learn.

Session 4 Snowboard Recap

After minutes of deliberation, a panel of professionals have decided that this is a switch back seven nose. We’re not totally sure, but we’re going with that.

Throughout the ages, there have been many foursomes that have defined sensibilities, innovated trends, and affected generations. In the sixties, The Beatles revolutionized rock music. In the eighties, Dr. Peter Venkham and the other Ghostbusters saved a legion of citizens from getting slimed. Flash forward to 2011, and it’s a fair comparison to say that Nick Visconti, Curtis Woodman, Jason Robinson, and Stevie Bell combined their collective radness and gave campers at Windells the best summer snowboard experience they could ever want.

The group may seem, at first, to be an unexpected foursome, but during Session 4, their unique personalities and boarding styles combined seamlessly, creating a powerhouse of fun. From morning to night, the guys were all over the place, harnessing the same energy of a whole cabin of campers. Tons of park laps, hours and hours spent in the Concrete Jungle and BOB, backflip clinics on hill, powerslide contests off hill, Bonfire Pipe 2 Pipe, and the biggest, most intense, game of knock out you have ever seen (Stevie could probably play defense in the NBA). But don’t take it from us, here’s what the crew had to say. Continue reading →

Aaron Robinson Memorial Lap

Windells is known for some of the best ski coaches around the world. The program has grown tremendously and brought up many skiers that are at the top of the game these days. Staff Checkout: Counselor Sammy Spiteri

Sammy Spiteri is a counselor here at Windells. Besides being an awesome snowboarder, Sammy is always all smiles and has a positive attitude, making him one of the friendliest dudes to share a cabin with. Considering how nice Sammy is, it only makes sense that he fil’s with Bhappy, a film crew out of Tahoe. Look out for his part this year in the new Bhappy flick, I heard there are some bangers!

We caught up with Sammy and asked some questions… check them out below.
