Year Round Action Sports Camp
JJ Thomas, Chris Hagerty, and Shane Flood rolled through the Windells park earlier in the week to film for Yea.Nice TV. I warn you, be aware of the carnage at 1:01. Head on over to The Snowboard Mag to watch the short little video…

1031 Skateboards‘ team rider and Portland local Donovan Rice with a few friends came up and skated the indoor facility here at Windells. Around campus we call it BOB, but it could also be called the Building Out Back. Keep your eyes peeled for a new edit from Skate Windells first thing tomorrow morning. Session 4. Best Bro Cam Edit yet. If you went to the Windells Academy, you would be able to skate this mini-ramp every single day. Windells’ campus is only 40 minutes from downtown Portland, think of how many pros would come through on a rainy Portland day to come skate the campus…
Here at Windells we have the overnight campers, day campers and many campers who come out with their own coaches to work on their progression during the summer. All of the campers come to use the on-mountain and on-campus facilities to make their experience the best. On the 85 foot jump we came across 16 year old day camper Will from Stowe Vermont who was working with his coach Ben to dial in his tricks to be today’s Camper of the Day!
We’ve just begun session 5 at Windells Camp with a total revamp of the terrain park to help bring out the great snow conditions we have for July. In the morning while lapping the Magic Mile with coach Izzy Lalive’s group where we found camper Maya from Taos, New Mexico. 14 year old Maya came to camp to learn everything so we’re looking forward to see her progression on the mountain this week as she tackles everything she can.
There’s been some serious heads rolling through campus in the past few weeks. Schmitty, the online guru for skateboarding’s bible, Thrasher Magazine and man behind the Trife, rolled through with Dan Drehobl, Alex Horn, Peter Watkins, Taylor Bingaman, and Frecks. Thrasher’s Joe Brooks and SkateDaily‘s Bryce Kanights were also here to take photos. Stay tuned to both Windells and Thrasher for an update on the content coming out of both camps, because both video and still frame cameras were out. Click more to check out some more photos…

Enzo is on the kitchen crew and is the hype man for Atmosphere. What does that mean? He makes tasty vittles for you each and every day so you can shred on a full belly and at night he leads super fun Atmosphere events like the Atmosphere Snake Race.
Atmosphere is a pretty awesome company, not only for the sweet duds they churn out to keep you warm and fresh-looking, but also because they come to camp a couple of times a session and put on sick events, both on and off the slopes. They also keep a super-updated blog, so when you can’t skate or shred and you’re sitting around geeking out on your computer (don’t kid yourself, we do it, too, it’s cool), you can check up on what’s going on in the Northwest, with their team, and with your favorite snowboard camp, of course! Check out their blog right now for a TON of Windells updates. They’ve got updates from their riders, the diggers, Session 4 snake race and more. All the photos are by Drew Smalley from DSImagery. Thanks for the love guys!
