As posted in a previous blog, the students of Windells Academy have been on snow every day since their arrival. It is amazing that there is a place like Mt. hood that has snow year round. It is even more amazing that we are the only people that have access to it this time of year. It is so much fun and the students are learning so much every day. Just think, what if you could be on snow every day of the year!
check out the video here! The students at Windells Academy are on snow, and at school 5 days a week. The weekends are off days and open to the students to choose what they would like to do for 2 days. This past weekend, on saturday, the students chose to head up to ski bowl’s adventure park. Last weekend Bear Mountain out in California held its Pre-season rail jam contest. This was the 6th year of the event and it surely wont be the last. In the world of skiing videos, there exists big production films, documenting only the top pro skiers on terrain no average human will ever access. On the other side of the spectrum is the 60 second online sponsor me edits. Last season Line and it’s underground band of misfit skiers lead by Will Wesson & Andy Parry set out to document skiing like never before. No high production camera crews, no snowmobiles, no heli trips to AK, just a couple of guys and a camera criss crossing the US in search of nothing but an angled surface to slide on armed with good old fashioned creativity. It was reality TV meets skiing and the overwhelmingly positive response from skiers around the world watching this FREE monthly online series was mind blowing. The show received over 20,000 views per episode and over 200,000 views for the year of all 9 episodes. Will & Andy became overnight icons of the everyday skier and skiers around the globe demanded a follow up season.

Not only does Windells Academy have amazing living facilities, excellent coaches, and amazing schooling… we also take weekend trips! For the second weekend trip of the year we decided to head to the coast for an amazing two days of surf and sun. We packed up and left Friday night, surfed all day saturday, hiked the same trail that explorers lewis and clark forged, and surfed again Sunday. Check it out!
Jake Black brought a lot to Windells Camp. Obviously his good looks did not go unnoticed during the Summer months on Hood but more notably, Jake brought the gentleman out in everyman. He introduced to the world, The Sandwich Club.
World famous blogging maniac Mary Walsh was deeply entertained by Jake’s antics and decided to Dig to the Core of Jake Black’s mind. Do Not Delay, check out Four Rounds With Jake Black
Since day one, the students of Windells Academy have been going up to the mountain and riding every day. We have set up 3 jumps and 3 jibs and were enjoying every second of it. The best part of it all is taking the van up the bumpy dirt road that winds to the top of the magic mile. Unload and its time to shred! Who else can say that they are riding on REAL snow at this time of year!
We opened up the campus for everyone to skate in honor of Louie Vito’s debut on Dancing with The Stars. The night was filled with skateboarding, tramping, foam pit jumping, and then with chips and Gatorade during the premiere. It was a great night. Check out Louie on Wednesday night to see if he made it into the next round.
