So snowboard and ski camps are over for the summer, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t remember the good times spent at Windells through the magic of the internet! Here is the link to the Windells vimeo, where you can find every video from every session this summer: http://vimeo.com/windells/videos
Check it out! And here is Session 7′s video, in case you haven’t seen it!
Windells coach, Pat Milbery was just added to the Xtreme Sports Insurance Team. Professional snowboarders (and skiers, of course) risk their bodies and often lives on a daily basis while competing at contests, filming video parts and pushing the boundaries of riding. Unlike in more traditional jobs, pro riders don’t generally get insurance from the companies they ride for, and it’s often difficult and expensive to become insured. Many young riders, even those who are shredding for fun, don’t have health insurance, which puts them in difficult positions if and when they become injured on the hill. XSI is working to change that and help action sports athletes out. Pat Milbery is stoked to be working with the new company.
Here’s a snippet of what Pat had to say about his new sponsorship:
“I am super excited about this new relationship with XSI! I am an insurance advocate, because it’s a necessity. I need and respect my brain, therefore I need a healthy body to do what I love to do on a daily basis.”
The first round of BMX/Freeride bike camps have ended and it was amazing. Pictured is Coach Scott with campers riding trails at the Grotto. To say the least, progression was everywhere and the kids left with plenty of new found commitment and a few extra bruises. Chicks Dig Scars!!!
This is what a Windells Van looks like packed to the hilt with BMX bikes. There is something artistic about this and lets make it an even bigger, better camp next year! We went to 5 skate parks, 2 swimming holes and even spent time shredding Windells Campus!
Big shout out to ODI for hooking up all the campers with brand new grips for thier rides. Colors are important and ODI dialed in color schemes.
A picture of our friend Daewon Song riding the quarter pipe at the end of the Concrete Jungle. Girl and Anti-Hero skate teams just rolled through and loved the set up. Cardiel was witnessed in the flesh and riding the BMX trails. Gotta love Windells!!!

Gatorade arrived at Windells to host a stop of the Free Flow Tour. With the winner of this competition moving onto having a chance at competing in the Dew Tour, Windells had a handful of NW’s best skating BOB.
In the End: Windells own snowboard camper, Alex Midler, stayed home from the mountain and earned the podium spot and a trip to the next round in Salt Lake City. Alex brought trick after trick to life, including back 3 down the stairs and Kickflip boardslides.
