Saturday was the first day of SNOWBOARDER Magazine’s America’s Next Top Model, an innovation contest that has 20 invited pro riders competing in simple, yet valued snowboard “disciplines”. Twenty of the most talented riders came to Windells to take part in the challenge: Eero Ettala, Pat Moore, MFM, Eddie Wall, Lauri Hesikari, the list goes on. Continue reading →
Today the pro riders started to come in for SNOWBOARDER MAGAZINE’s America’s Next Top Pro Model. The on hill battle for who has the best pro model snowboard starts tomorrow, but the SNOWBOARDER MAGAZINE crew were at camp today checking in riders, enjoying the kitchen crew’s fine cuisine and skating a bit. Lauri Heiskari, Eddie Wall, Pat Moore and Niko Cioffi were thrashing the concrete on their skateboards. Danny Kass and Louie Vito drove the Grenade RV into campus and hung out with campers. Lucas Magoon was hanging out, too, taking video on his camera of Niko skating.
Windells coaches Pat Milbery and Austin Hironaka shot all winter to get their parts dialed in Think Thank’s 2010 film, Cool Story. Pat and Austin will be premiering their hardwork in BOB at Windells this Sunday, July 19th after the Bonfire Pipe 2 Pipe and SNOWBOARDER MAGAZINE’s America’s Next Top Pro Model. Check out the teaser!
Pat Milbery, the Skull Candy crew and the Arbor crew of Benny Henrick, Zack Hale, Moss Halladay and Joe Bosler were at Windells last session rippin’ up the park and hanging out on campus. They did a bunch of really funny contests for campers to win Skull Candy and Arbor products. Check out www.so-gnar.com for tons of video and photos. This is one of our favorites from the week: the Mustard Challenge.
Inspired by all of the Digger Dogs that campers and coaches were mowing down on, Pat and Joe held an impromptu mustard-eating contest on hill last week. Surprisingly, tons of campers were down to try to swallow as much mustard as they could in order to win free gear….
So A LOT has gone down over the last few days and all of it has been captured by the AMAZING videographers here at camp. Check out their work at these places. Whatever you feel like, pro interviews, contest coverage, crashes and behind the scenes, it’s all here.

Congrats to Johnny Lazz who won the second Bonfire Pipe 2 Pipe of the summer yesterday! Johnny showed up at the Windells park Saturday morning exuding his usual technical, yet smooth style on the rail set up during the pro jam session and easily made it into finals. During the game of HAM (much like a game os SKATE, but on snow and with less letters), Lazz, Sawyer Deen and Ryan Paul were left at the top of the down rail, Sawyer and Ryan with HA and Lazz with H. Lazz called the trick: nollie hardway 270, 270 off and stomped it, knocking out the other two riders and earning himself 500 dollar bills. Not bad for a sunny and sick day at the mountain.
