The temperature every day for the past two weeks has danced around the upper 90′s and low 100′s. In this heat, how do you keep the active campers at Windells occupied and cooled off, in between skating and jumping on the trampolines.
Heres a photo update from Flows funky dream feature. Just wait til the kiddy pool is installed later this session. There will be people airing over others lounging in the pool, on the mountain!!
DC recently visited camp. With them they brought big timers and big head turners. Chas Guldemond, Jonas Carlson, and TM Zack Dalton arrived waving a stack of free snowboards in the faces of campers. In order to determine which lucky campers would get their hands on these sick sticks, they hosted 2 challenges.
You know the story, Windells invites a team of Pro’s out, we build them something an imagination can barely think up, then they shred it with everyone.
The Dream feature is a new project for 2009, and has provided a ton of excitement to campers, staff, guest pro’s, and the public watching.
Check out a preview of Flows channel gapping, barrell bonking, downrailing, kiddy pool feature.
It’s Session Six at Windells and the Flow Team is here to build their Dream Feature.
It’s been so hot out that the Flow team wore shorts their first day on hill to build their Dream Feature. As you can see here, Jeremy Thompson wore sunblock on his legs. Brandon Reis did not.
Tim Humphreys, Jeremy and Brandon took many shredsled laps on the concrete jungle when they arrived at Windells. They were getting pretty good.
Jamie Weller lein to tail from skateboard-revolution.com
Everyone knows that PDX is home to some of the best skaters out there, who can annihilate both tranny and street. The Windells skate coaches are examples of the fruits of such good skating–they kill it, and tomorrow they’re inviting some of their friends to come hang out at Windells.
Jivaro Wheels, a local company out of Portland, is sending their skate team to Windells to thrash concrete and skatelite tomorrow night for all the campers to check out. Windells’ own sick skate coach, Jamie Weller, is on Jivaro’s team, so he’ll definitely be throwing down and if Jamie’s skating is any evidence of how good the rest of the team is, Windells is in for an awesome demo.
Who’s coming? Jivaro team members like Brian Sloane, Xeno Miller, Taj Hansen, Willis Kimbel, Peter Gunn, Jeremy Tuffli, Mike and Chet Childress, Andrew Adams, Ben Krahn, Bob Heinz, and more…
Camp videographer Corey has been making short videos about camp life at Windells and we’ll be posting them all on the blog. Here’s the first one, which shows how to screen print stickers and features Head Coach Reed. vimeo Direct Link
